Networking in Europe - Objectives

• Contribute to the promotion and achievements of the MDGs (particularly goals 2, 7,8) at a local, national, European and global level
• Networking between Local Authorities and NGOs at a local, national and European level
• Contribution to poverty reduction
• Strengthen the cooperation within the partner cities of the proposal, with twin towns and the cities of the Climate Alliance network
• Foster synergies and facilitate a structured dialogue on development within the partner cities
• Consolidate exchanges between non-state-actors and local authorities networks about best practices and thematic experiences
• Integrate development approaches within the EU’ s ongoing politics
• Strengthen the interaction between network platforms and EU institutions
• Increase political pressure on national governments to commit the MDGs
